Very Hot

It is very hot in Chisinau. the whole July was very hot. the temperature was rising till 40 degrees Celsius. you can't imagine how awful it is and not easy to resist. I don't really understand why is happening such a situation, because normally the temperature is like 34 maximum. This summer it had beaten all the records and caused a disaster for the agricultural system. This means that the prices for food will rise very soon and maybe will cause a crises. I hope not.

Congratulations!!! Chisinau got a new mayor

Dorin Chirtoaca won the second tour of elections for the post of mayor. The second tour took place yesterday, the 17-th of June. And the results of the elections were told after midnight.

here they are:

Dorin Chirtoaca, Liberal Party - 61,17 %
Veaceslav Iordan, Communist Party - 38,83 %

this is an amazing result and it represents a very important change in the public administration of Chisinau. Even though there were many spiculations and anti-propaganda against Dorin Chirtoaca (like saying he is a very radical nationalist) people trusthim more than his oponent. It is believed that it was made the first step for the change of the today political regim. And it will deffinetly influence the parliamentary elections in 2009.

Dorin Chirtoaca is only 28 years old, but he's got the neccessary education and represents the prototype of a modern moldavian politic.

Chisinau is going to have a new district!

CHISINAU, May 30 / IA "News-Moldova" Svetlana Derevschikova. Construction of a new district is scheduled to start in Chisinau. This was highlighted at a working meeting with senior officials who met on Wednesday Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, "agency NOVOSTI-MOLDOVA" with reference to press the Head of State. The new housing project bordering communes Budeshty and Togatino, will occupy an area of more than 50 hectares. Agency Director-General Construction and Territorial Development Igor Semenovker presented a detailed plan for the future of the district, which will be built on 10 thousand social apartments, commercial and administrative centres, other cultural institutions. The President suggested that the project should be emulated in the future and called for the identification of the sources of fund for future expenses.
At the moment there are 7 districts: posta veche, riscani, ciocana, centru, botanica, buiucani, sculeni.
